Tropical plants

Sisal

Sisal is a natural fibre extracted from the leaves of the Agave Sisalana, a succulent plant. Its leaves, growing over 1 meter in length, are known for their highly durable and strong fibre. Widespread in tropical and subtropical regions over the globe, it is believed the plant originally derives from Mexico.

Bamboo

As the fastest growing plant on earth, bamboo can grow up to 1.2 meters a day. We at nudo only use Moso Bamboo, a giant bamboo species native in China, which is considered a very effective CO2 absorber and a highly sustainable material.

Loofah

Loofah or Luffa is a tropical climbing plant, that belongs to the cucumber family. Our pad is made of the fibrous skeleton of the dried fruit. When put into warm water, its rough texture becomes soft and supple.

cotton

Called “The Fabric of Our Lives” or “White Gold”, cotton is one of the first cultivated plants in history with origins in South Asia about 7.000 years ago. Today cotton is the world's most used natural fibre.

Konjac

Konjac, also known as “Devil’s Tongue” or “Voodoo Lily”, is a tropical plant with dark purple flowers, that is home in East Asia. Traditionally used for hundreds of years in Japan, the facial cleaning sponge is made of fibres deriving from the root of the konjac plant.
